The island province of Camiguin, Philippines is the recipient of Phil-German Rural Telecommunication Project. The project was implemented by GTZ and handed over to an NGO (non-government organization), the Camiguin Telephone Cooperative. The network started operation on February 12, 1994. The heart of the system is a full-digital Alcatel S12 exchange.
This blog will reveal the details and behind the scenes of the project. To date, the cooperative have not posted any website/blog about this project. We hope thisĀ blog will fill-in the information gap. Fell free to air your comments because they will be beneficial to CAMTECO.
